Farm to Food Pantry (F2FP)

The signature program of Northeast Washington Hunger Coalition is Farm to Food Pantry.

Our youngest farmers, Anna & Elsie Hume

The Challenge

In partnership with Harvest Against Hunger, NEWHC purchases fresh nutritious fruits and vegetables from local farms and transports them to our 17 partner food pantries in Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille Counties. Instead of getting perishing leftovers or donated seconds, Farm to Food Pantry brings produce in peak condition to those that need it most.

Our Solution

NEW Hunger Coalition currently contracts with 20 local farms.  Purchasing locally benefits family farms in our region and strengthens the regional food supply chain.  Our farmers grow the healthiest fruits and vegetables available.  Produce is picked one day and delivered the next day to a local food pantry.

NEW Hunger Coalition delivered over 46,000 pounds of nutrient dense fruits, vegetables and proteins to food pantries in 2023
